The psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus hypothesized that we forget approximately 50% of the information we take in an hour after receiving it. A week later, and only 10% of that information remains. Most of the time this is fine.
But there are special experiences worth remembering. Like the moment when a beautiful painting sings to our souls or when a well-worded sentence elicits a tear of knowing. For these moments, we should pause and reflect. They are the whispers of inspiration our future selves deserve to know and enjoy.
I hope you enjoy the deck of notes below and are blessed by one of those special moments during your journey this week.
With love,

The piece that spoke to me:
"But there are special experiences worth remembering. Like the moment when a beautiful painting sings to our souls or when a well-worded sentence elicits a tear of knowing. For these moments, we should pause and reflect."
I also think of how beautiful it feels to be able to be in the moment; perhaps you won't remember, but you will be wholeheartedly present in that moment, in front of the painting, amongst nature, sipping on your coffee, catching up with a friend... All these moments in lives you may not remember but you're present for. It can be such a compassionate practice to living our lives with intention. ☀️
"For my future self I will live life now" This really spoke to me, and I think will become my mantra for this week. Going to spend the rest of the evening getting cozy and reading all of the featured posts! Your gift to decipher and discern is incredible (as usual!) <3
