This is one of my favorite posts I've read of yours. I feel this. Sometimes *when* I'm feeling that fear, if I have the space to create, I have to tell myself, "Just start."
I have to say that approach didn’t go so well this week, but the week before it was 🔥. So maybe that’s the next thing after “just start.” “Keep showing up.”
I found the conversation with Karla particularly insightful. One of my favorite things to come out of the past few years, in particular, is supporting the mental health of creatives. There's so much we can learn about ourselves through what of our parts show up in our work.
This: "One of the most important lessons I’ve gleaned from my creative journey is how easy it is to confuse “I don’t know what to do” with “I’m scared to do what I want.”" This resonates with me deeply. And is something I've struggled through so many times on this journey.

Thanks, Jamal and Karla Marie - I love the 3-minute video explanation of nurturing/building empathy. Insightful.

I'm grateful you enjoyed it Jor-El! And yes to mental health!
Art became a focus for me later in life, but it's impact on my personhood in the short time I've prioritized it is undeniable.
This was one of the unexpected things art-making helped me cultivate.
And once it was there - in me - it stayed there even when I put my tools aside...
Beautifully simply put, Jamal.
Thank you for joining me Klara and the kind words 🥰
Loving these so much bro!
I appreciate you bro!
